Workout: 1:30 bike, 30 min run
Weather: Humid, hot, sunny w/ afternoon thunderstorms
I kept it indoors today for a couple of reasons:
- I didn’t want to get caught out in a thunderstorm. Duh.
- As much as I love an outdoor workout on a hot/humid day, I know I don’t recover very well from them. Since I’m not racing in a tropical climate in September, there is no reason to put myself in the position where I feel like shit the next day. I need to put myself in a position where I’m ready to get the work done. It’s not a glamorous to ride and run, and some may think I’m being a wimp, but I gotta do what’s best for my training.
I hit the treadmill first, took a quick lunch break, then got on the trainer. The treadmill wasn’t bad-I actually enjoyed it for once! The trainer, on the other hand, was a strugglefest. Big gear intervals are no joke!
