Last week I got the heck out of Virginia the day before 10 inches of snow fell in my yard and soaked up every bit every bit of the California sun and warmth.
What I felt good about: a really strong 10K race the day after a tough ride
What could improve: swimming
What I’m looking forward to: C26 tri camp in Nashville in a couple of weeks!
I swam once last week. It wasn’t great, but I am determined to fake it till I make it great. One of my Crushing Iron teammates decided to swim five days in a row to get her swim mojo back and I think that is a great idea, so I may do something similar. Last year the more I went to the pool the more I liked it.
Really enjoyed riding outside last week….though, I did enjoy a trainer ride too since re-subscribing to Zwift. In addition to my regularly planned rides, I went out on a mountain bike trail with my husband and his friend who kindly lent me his old full suspension bike. It was one of the hardest (the climbs + wind) and most terrifying (the descents) rides I’ve ever done and I want to do it again. On Saturday I did an organized 35-mile ride with a ton of climbing…spoiler alert: it was hard AF, but I finished. Recap coming soon!
Still feeling strong on training runs and I raced a solid 10K. Recap will be posted soon!
Just one last week: visiting my husband! I only get to see him every six weeks or so because he lives in California for his job and I’m still in Virginia for school/work. We both participated in the Saddleback Spring Classic in Irvine on Saturday and he did some of my training with me.
The Same 24 Hours Podcast with Meredith Atwood aka Swim Bike Mom. I wanted some new podcasts to listen to on my flights and always looking for anything triathlon-related. She’s an incredible interviewer and I really enjoyed the Mike Reilly (Ironman voice) and Chrissie Wellington episodes.
