And just like that, the first week of Eagleman-specific training is complete. The title of this post was inspired by a week of cold, rain, wind and snow flurries…and a lot of indoor training. I miss riding my bike outdoors. I mean, at this point I’ll settle for sunny & 40s without the damn wind and rain!
What I felt good about: getting the workouts in
What could improve: nutrition-couldn’t quite dial it in last week
What I’m look forward to: Heading to California tomorrow to visit my husband and participate in the Saddleback Spring Classic 35-miler (Saturday) + the Reaching For the Cure 10K (Sunday)…oh and get the heck away from winter!
I actually enjoyed two of my three swims this week. WIN! Why only two? Because I didn’t get the third one in…oops.
Trainer rides again this week. As much as I like knowing my stats outside, staring at my bike computer while on the trainer and seeing some odd numbers makes me crazy. So, this week I turned off my bike computer and just did the workouts. If anyone has any tips on how to make indoor cycling more fun, fill me in. I’m thisclose to re-subscribing to Zwift.
Holy wind, Batman! I’m over winter, I’m over this wind and would love the infamous DC-area summer humidity to make a return sooner than later! I even ran on the treadmill a couple of days because I didn’t want to layer up after a trainer ride and I was super sweaty.
Downsizing my workout clothing. I can’t even begin to describe how satisfying it is to get rid of things I haven’t worn, things that don’t fit and things I just don’t need (contrary to popular belief, I do not need 10+ Oiselle Flyte tank tops). Post coming on Friday!
The sunrises have been incredible lately. This has nothing to do with working out, but wow!
Stop by next Monday for the next weekly training update.
How did your week go? Any races coming up soon?
