February Goals

On this final day of January 2017 I’m talkin’ February goals. Boy am I happy to be one month closer to warmer weather! I know, I know Virginia has had a pretty mild winter compared to other areas of the country, but I love the sticky, hot, humid weather during training season…and now my mind is wandering to summer days on my bike…okay, back to reality. It’s winter is far from over, it’s only February.

And with that, I present to you, my February goals:

Complete every single scheduled run workout. I was doing really well with this in January until I started the Whole 30…week one zapped my energy. Now that I’m feeling more energized, I’m ready to get to work.

Speaking of Whole 30…complete it and do a proper reintroduction of food. As I said yesterday, I have a post coming on Thursday about this.

Spend more time on the bike. Yes, that likely means more trainer time, but it’s really not that bad. I want to get up to 2-3 times a week of cycling. The more I work on it now the less painful it will be once Maine 70.3 training officially starts.

Get in the pool regularly. This is something I still struggle with. Once I get into a grove and swim a few times it’s not so bad. It seems if I miss a swim, I have to start all over again in feeling up to going to the pool. The key here? Don’t miss a swim 😉

And of course, continue my #hitreset365 daily yoga practice.

What are you February goals?

I’m linking up with the Tuesday on the Run gals: Today’s topic is “give your running a grade” and for January I would give it a B-/C+ because I missed some runs, but the runs I did do were strong and I’m getting braver about always taking the hilly route 🙂

  1. Since I’ve been sick (and still am), my original goals for February are somewhat questionable. My number one goal is to get better and be able to hit the ground running in March healthy and fit. Cheers to more daylight with each coming day 😉

  2. My main goal for February is to do more healthy cooking at home! I need to make sure I’m eating properly so I’m pushing myself to step it up! I also want to get back to running 4 days a week.

Kudos on completing Whole30…I wish I could commit to it!

    1. I love that your goal is more cooking at home-it’s so much fun to play with different spice mixtures and create some really fun flavors 🙂

  3. Yay! Your goals sound awesome. A tri sounds so tempting to me, and I love yoga any time of year. Our weather here in Oklahoma is similarly mild, and we’ve had a pretty magical winter, but man. Yep, I crave the heat and humidity. So much.
I have heard the Whole 30 really does zap you at first but that it gets much better? So happy to meet you. Founn your blog through the link up at Marcia’s site. Happy training!!

    1. I vote yes, you should try a tri 😉 I’m currently on day 10 of the W30 and my energy has seemingly doubled! Happy to meet you too-thanks for stopping by!

  4. Those are great Feb goals! I so know what you mean about falling out of the pool groove. I was so proud of myself for going 2 days in a row last week. I need to gain some momentum!

    1. I think I need to start rewarding myself whenever I go to the pool-like a coffee or something, maybe that will keep the momentum up!
