With the new year approaching quickly, let’s talk about the upcoming year. Of course I have goals/resolutions/intentions for 2016, almost everyone does. But instead of listing them and writing a little blurb about how I plan to achieve these goals, I’m going to talk about a central theme I brainstormed on over the past several weeks:
Live fearlessly. I decided this was going to be my theme this year after thinking back how I spent 2015. I was in constant fear of what others thought of me, of missing out on something and, regarding running, injuring myself. That fear kept me from achieving what I wanted to do, whether it was going out with new friends or pushing myself to go a little longer on that run. I found myself constantly making excuses for why I couldn’t do something and then would regret not doing it later. I found myself becoming a very negative person, which is just not who I am, nor who I want to be.
In December, I did an Instagram challenge hosted by Sonja from Rising Tide Triathlon Coaching. It was a 10 day challenge to find your “personal routine for inevitable success” and I learned so much more about myself than I ever thought I would from an Instagram challenge! By the end, I felt more confident in my abilities to push past my fears that held me back over the past few years.
So, for 2016, I want to push past my comfort zone and be fearless. Living fearlessly is where dreams come true, where happiness is found. I’m excited for the upcoming year and what it holds!
Do you have a theme for 2016?
